Sometimes you have to go back to where it started. Lukas Walls began his collegiate career under Bucky McMillan at Samford, where he was a key bench player for his first two seasons.

Since then, he transferred to Radford and increased his usage, averaging 7.9 points a game, 1.1 steals and 45.5 percent from deep. Walls decided to transfer to Texas A&M to reunite with McMillan. He only started once in 67 games with Samford, but he averaged over 20 minutes per game in his sophomore year. That only improved when he was with Radford.

A great decision for Walls, not only to reunite with his old coach, but to see his scrappy play and already know McMillan's system in the back of his head.

This is about the best news Texas A&M basketball can hear. After watching Pop Issacs leave, the Aggies needed an answer somewhere. Thankfully, they were able to jump on P.J. Haggerty, one of the great bucket-getters in college basketball, but we all know they needed more.

Depending on how things look by the summer, McMillan might have found his go-to guards going into next season. We don't expect Walls to be a superstar scorer, but he already knows McMillan's system. He knows the energy it takes to play Bucky Ball on the defensive end and play with toughness.

In case fans needed some reassurance on Walls, take a look at what QB1 Marcel Reed had to say about Texas A&M's newest athlete.

It seems like Walls already fits into Aggieland. Not just because of the McMillan reunion, but he already seems like a popular fit around campus.

Walls is going to help bring results to the Ags, and it's easy to see why he's already a perfect fit.
