This is about the worst news that any team can receive right before starting conference play, as it's been announced that Texas A&M forward Mackenzie Mgabko will be out for the remainder of the season with a foot injury.

Texas A&M forward Mackenzie Mgbako will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season with a foot injury, per Bucky McMillan.

This comes from head coach Bucky McMillan himself, and this stings for A&M fans everywhere. Mgbako is possibly the team's best player, and this will be a huge blow to Bucky McMillan's first season.
The injury provides an opportunity for a veteran sleeper and a FIBA European Cup Champion to rise to the challenge while Mgbako is out for the season.
It's next man up mentality for Texas A&M as Mackenzie Mgbako goes down for the season
The former Big Ten Freshman of the Year is out, but that means it's time for Rashaun Agee and Rueben Dominguez to step up.
Since Agee was granted a temporary injunction by a Brazos County Judge, the USC transfer is having a season, averaging 12.3 points per game. McMillan called Agee the face of the program and a potential first-round NBA selection. McMillan has already shown heavy interest in Agee, and there should be no doubt that he will get even more playing time.
Rueben Dominguez has been on fire to start the season, as he has already set the school record for 3-pointers in a game with 10 to register the first 30-point game by an Aggie this season. His shooting skills are a staple for McMillan, and you best believe the former European Cup Champion will get plenty more respect from Bucky.
This is a tough blow for the rest of their season and their March Madness chances, but the Aggies have plenty of guys to potentially end the season in double-digit point averages like Marcus Hill, Rylan Griffen and Pop Issacs.
Mgbako has a nice 6-foot-9 frame, and it will be hard to replace. The Aggies need to stick with their plan to play "Bucky Ball." Fast-paced offense and tough defense.
