Texas A&M basketball will have their hands full against the Ole Miss Rebels in what's expected to be a rough and tough contest.
The Aggies are slowly finding their groove back after getting their star player in Wade Taylor IV back on the court. Taylor IV scored 12 points in 24 minutes in his return.
One college basketball analyst is once again is staying with his prediction from earlier this month, saying that the Aggies are capable of making a ton of noise in March, and hopefully April.
Rothstein contends this Texas A&M basketball team is 'Final Four good'
"Texas A&M is Final Four good."Jon Rothstein
We'll learn a lot about the Ags and Rebels tonight. Jon Rothstein reminds us that matchup this will be one of the most physical of the SEC this season. Rothstein also looked ahead at the big picture for the Aggies if they can stay consistent with their physical play.
According to Rothstein, the Aggies brought back 82.5 percent of its scoring from last season when they lost to Houston in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Now, Rothstein thinks the Aggies are in for a long postseason. He also gave a shoutout to CJ Wilcher, a player who's quietly contributed well for the Aggies, getting nine points from his excellent shooting from beyond the arc.
It's easy to see why this Aggie team can make the Final Four this season. As Buzz Williams has stated before, this isn't a team of a bunch of talented shooters. They're a bunch of blue collar players who come to work, prepared to scrap for the loose change and get extra possessions.
We've haven't seen a team like this since the Houston Cougars back in the 2020-21 season. The Aggies give off the same vibes with the Cougars also making the Final Four in 2021 as well.
Rothstein also gave credit to Zhuric Phelps who stepped up massively when Taylor IV was sidelined. Phelps has proven to be an important piece for the Aggies to make such a run in the tournament.
