CFB writer puts Texas A&M on a high pedestal despite blatant disrespect from Coaches Poll

With the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll, some might say the Texas A&M Aggies have to gain some respect. Even though Texas A&M fans may not like being ranked at No. 21, that probably comes from Texas A&M always riding into the season with high hopes, only to flop late in the season.

Of course, even if the Aggies were hyped up during SEC Media Days, they still have to earn respect and stay consistent all season long.

Veteran college football writer Brett McMurphy has defied the poll entirely and put Texas A&M just outside the top 10. They still have to earn this, but this goes to show that another college football writer has bought into the Texas A&M Kool-Aid for the 2025 season.

CFB insider Brett McMurphy has Texas A&M football at No. 12

McMurphy's poll looks entirely different from the coaches' poll. For example, he has Oklahoma at No. 18, and he has Georgia as the No. 1 team in the land. The Aggies were placed at No. 21, and Texas A&M fans are still valid to scratch their head.

When we dive deep into it, the USA Today Coaches Poll had SMU, Illinois, Ole Miss, Florida and Indiana above Texas A&M. Whichever way Aggies fans will look at that, they will probably have an opinion or two about those teams above Texas A&M.

McMurphy probably puts Texas A&M in the best spot possible. They have the team on paper to make it work to make a run at the College Football Playoff, but if they don't put it together, college football fans everywhere will be laughing at the Aggies once again if they flop on what could be a magical season for them.
