Raylaun Henry made it abundantly clear that he has no intentions of backing out of his commitment with the Texas A&M Aggies. The five-star cornerback recruit has been committed to Texas A&M since mid-November of last year. Henry may hail from Baltimore, but he wants to do more than just play for Mike Elko in College Station. He wants to be a reason the 2027 class can be the greatest one to date.
Henry told Landyn Rosow of Aggie Huddle how he feels about the Aggies at this point in the process.
“It’s been a great process. I feel like I made the right decision and I’m trusting in Coach Elko.”
He mentioned the great rapport he already has with sone of the assistant coaches on Elko's staff.
“I have a great relationship with Coach BGA, Coach Lyle, and Coach Tony. I feel like they are a great coaching staff and will help push me into becoming a great corner.”
Henry did not beat around the bush when it came to saying where his college football allegiances lie.
“I’m 1,000 percent locked in with A&M. I’m only taking visits there.”
To have Aggie fans even more excited, Henry strives to be a guy who can recruit more stars to A&M.
“I’m working on Kaden Henderson and Eric McFarland, We need all of them."
With the Aggies fresh off their first-ever trip to the College Football Playoff, things are only looking up!
Raylaun Henry emphatically states that he is going to play for Texas A&M
According to the 247Sports Composite, Henry is the No. 2 player from Maryland, the No. 4 cornerback in the 2027 recruiting class, and the No. 26 overall prospect in this cycle. He may have 23 offers, including ones from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, and Oregon, but he has no intentions of backing out of his commitment with the Aggies. Why would he?
Under Elko, Texas A&M has become more than a behemoth in high school recruitment. He has coached up these high-end players well over the last two seasons. Clearly, he was the secret sauce in College Station during the Jimbo Fisher era. When Elko left for the Duke job, Texas A&M football plummeted, while the Blue Devils thrived under him. He is still growing in this role, but so far, so good.
The biggest thing here is Texas A&M seems to be reinvesting its dividends into recruitment. The Aggies have been able to compete with anyone for a while, but they have really stepped up their game of late. Not that they really needed to, but this program is firing on all cylinders when it comes to team building. As long as Elko keeps getting buy-in from his players, this team will be hard to beat.
Here is to Henry holding up his end of the bargain in landing Kaden Henderson and Eric McFarland!
