Texas A&M recruiting has been absolutely insane so far this year, with the Aggies beginning to completely run away with the top-ranked class in the nation. Texas A&M fans have had the pleasure of watching Elko's long-term plan on the trail begin to reach its full effect, and it's been quite the ride for the Aggie faithful.

Texas A&M is looking to add another huge verbal commitment today, as five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland out of IMG Academy in Florida is set to make his announcement at 4 PM central. McFarland, originally from the Las Vegas area, is high school teammates with current Texas A&M five-star commit Zyron Forstall, who has no doubt been working on the talented receiver ever since he went public with his Aggie commitment.

There is significant momentum building for Texas A&M headed into decision day for McFarland, and most are now expecting the Aggies to end up walking away from the day with yet another five-star in their class. Here's everything Texas A&M fans need to know about McFarland's commitment and what it would mean for the class going forward.

What Texas A&M fans need to know about 5-star Eric McFarland's commitment and fallout

McFarland will be announcing live on the CBS College Football YouTube channel, with the live broadcast of his decision set to begin around 4 PM central time. Texas A&M is battling Georgia and the Florida Gators for McFarland's commitment.

McFarland is a small, shifty receiver in the mold of a Mario Craver— though he is far more highly-rated than Craver was coming out of high school. Obviously, no. 1 in Maroon and White is an extremely productive player, so this is not to say that McFarland will come in and immediately be a better player, but it is to say that the Aggies are getting yet another speed demon at the position if they pick him up.

The IMG star would be a great fit for the Aggies when it comes to the kind of room that they are building at the position. With the recent commitment of Damani Warren, the Aggies have added a go-up-and-get-it type of true X receiver, and McFarland would complement that skillset in a huge way if he were to jump in the boat.

Add in the fast-rising Jaden Upshaw and his all-around skillset, and the Aggies' room is not only highly-skilled at the position but highly diverse when it comes to their different specialties. That's obviously something that speaks to the planning and execution by Mike Elko and his staff, which should encourage Aggie fans.

Texas A&M looks to be trending in a big way for McFarland right now, which is great news for the Aggies. Hopefully, the Aggies can get this one over the finish line and get this five-star in the boat.
