Five bold predictions for Texas A&M's non-conference matchup with Samford

A clean jersey from the team's linchpin and the soon-to-be sack leader in college football highlight what should be an easy afternoon for the Aggies.

EJ Smith finds the end zone for a third straight game

The rotational back for this A&M offense has played a nice role the last month or so — averaging six carries a game with 133 yards to show for it. More recently those touches have turned to scores, finding the end zone in each of the team's games against Missouri and South Carolina.

In a game where I think the Aggies will try to lessen the load on Rueben Owens' legs, especially after he got dinged up in the South Carolina game, we should see a lot of action from Smith. While it shouldn't be hard for him to reach a season-high in carries — a number that currently sits at seven — let's call for him to find the end zone for the third game in a row and for the fourth time this season.

Mike Elko rests his players before halftime

If the Aggies are well in control of this football game before the break, something that would be alarming if not true, then Mike Elko should have no shame in letting his starters hit the showers and get ready for the long road that lies ahead. We spoke this week about the importance of this team staying healthy for its regular season finale with Texas, a potential conference title game and a run through the College Football Playoffs. While you don't want your team to be rusty in those games, hopefully a lighthearted effort against the Bulldogs will keep this team in rhythm and well-rested.
