Five players who Texas A&M football needs to bring back for 2025

Texas A&M football is now in a precarious moment of the college football yearly cycle. They are headed for their bowl destination against Southern Cal later this month, and are currently attempting to navigate the transfer portal and NFL draft declarations.

All that to say that the roster is beginning to shift in how it looks. However, the Aggies have some key pieces they would love to keep around.

Here are five players that the Aggies need to keep in the boat for 2025.

Five players who Texas A&M football needs back in 2025: DJ Hicks

Hicks has shown major flashes in spots over the last couple of years, but he hasn't been in the mix as consistently as Aggie fans woudl have liked. However, with so much defensive line talent prospectively outbound, including Shemar Stewart and Nic Scourton, Hicks has a chance to anchor the Aggie defensive front going forward.

He has the skillset to do it, too. He has five-star pedigree, and you can see it at times when he's in the game. If he can keep developing and becoming consistent, he would be a major weapon on the interior of the defensive line for the Ags.

They first have to keep him out of the portal, though. Given his lack of playing time up until this point, I'm sure opposing coaches are looking to prey on any doubts that are ongoing. The Aggie staff needs to make sure Hicks is back in College Station next year.
