Texas A&M is assembling what is possibly their highest-rated recruiting class since the now-infamous 2022 cycleโ which, of course, saw the Aggies put together what still stands as the top-ranked recruiting class of all time. That obviously did not pan out as A&M fans hoped at that point, but the 2026 group seems, so far, much more balanced.
The Ags have been unafraid to identify talent and take commitments from players who they are high on regardless of the recruiting services, unlike the star-hunting we saw in the 2022 class. Stars are stars for a reason, though, and the Aggies are in on their fair share of high-leverage battles as well.
One of these is the continued struggle for the eventual signature of five-star LSU WR commit Tristen Keys. The top-3 national player pledged to LSU some time ago, but there's been some momentum lately that he may flipโ and it's increasingly looking like the Aggies could be the destination.

Say what you will, but this does not seem like a player who is pot-committed to his current verbal pledge. Especially considering the rivalry between the Aggies and the Tigers, you would think that he would be much more dismissive if he was locked in with LSU.
It sounds like the Aggies' WR coach in Holmon Wiggins is the key piece here. The veteran receivers coach has led the way in this recruitment from day one, and even through the Aggies hiring figures such as Keys's lead recruiter at Miami, it's been Wiggins who has been hot on the trail of players like this.
We'll just have to see how things play out here over the next bit of time. It's possible this all ends up fading away, but it's certainly seeming dour for LSU fans at the moment. The Aggies could make a huge move at their rivals' expense if this were to take place.
