Texas A&M is looking to close out a massive regular season tomorrow with their rivalry game against the Texas Longhorns. The Aggies have had several stars emerge over the course of this year, leading them to a heretofore undefeated record in 2025.
Even though this team still has so much in front of them, Aggie fans are already beginning to think about what next season's team might look like. After all, there are a lot of seniors on this squad, and if the Aggies are to keep the momentum Elko has built, they will need a lot of consistency.
Keeping several players in the fold who could have made the jump to the NFL last offseason has proven huge for Elko and company this year— but can they do it again? Here are five players that Texas A&M could end up seeing elsewhere next season, whether heading to the big leagues or via the portal.
Five Texas A&M players who may not be back next year: S Bryce Anderson
The writing has been on the wall for a little bit here. The senior safety starter has only played four games so far this year, and has been out with an injury for some time now— and coach Elko confirmed before the Samford game that Anderson would be taking a redshirt.
Does that necessarily mean he's leaving? No, but it seems a likely ending at this point. Brooks and Ratcliffe have played excellently at the safety position since Anderson has been out, meaning he may have been squeezed out of a job.
This could be a glass-half-empty perspective, of course. Since redshirts are not affected by postseason play, Anderson could play in a potential SEC Championship Game and any College Football Playoff games. If he's healed up by then, we'll see where he actually falls in the pecking order— perhaps he's more inclined to return than it looks at this point.
