Marcel Reed, the Heisman-contending quarterback for Texas A&M, appeared on Up & Adams today for an interview with Kay Adams that a lot of Aggies were tuned in for. Among several other things, Adams was sure to ask him about the rivalry with Texas and the game going on this weekend.

The comparison between the two programs' quarterbacks has completely shifted over the last few months, with Arch Manning receiving a lot of Heisman buzz right up until anyone saw him play football, and Reed now being considered among the favorites. That certainly is something that has to have stayed with Marcel this whole time, and he's ready to prove to the Longhorn fans in particular just how good he is.

When asked about this game by Adams, Reed didn't exactly beat around the bush. He made it plain how he feels about Texas, and how this team hopes to conduct themselves in this game.

Marcel Reed drops fiery quote about hatred for Longhorns ahead of rivalry matchup, showing just how unintimidated this Aggie team is

Here's the clip of Marcel's words:

"Saw 'em off... I don't like Texas, and I'm sure my teammates don't like Texas either, so the first thing that comes to mind is really just going to win that game. There's no disrespect, but I don't want them to come off that field feeling like a good team anymore."

We've already had our fair share of rivalry week fireworks flying ahead of this game with Ar'maj Reed-Adams' pithy designation of the Longhorns as "cowards" for the stunt they pulled after the game last year. Now, the Aggie quarterback is getting in on the fun a little bit.

This has to fire Aggie fans up, without a doubt. This shows the mentality this team has coming into the game, and that they are completely ready to take down the Longhorns. They're not shying away from giving some bulletin board material, because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter: this team is just plain better than the Longhorns.
