Texas A&M baseball came into last night's matchup with the UCLA Bruins riding high, undefeated on the season, and ready to show the world that they could hang with the nation's number one-ranked team. Early miscues began to snowball, however, and the Bruins had an early 6-1 lead that eventually ballooned to an 11-1 lead by the seventh inning, finishing the game as a run-rule victory for UCLA.
That was not how any Aggie envisioned the game going, especially when they had hit with such power and consistency coming into that contest. What made it worse was a jab that one UCLA player, a former Texas Longhorn, took after that game.
Will Gasparino is a name that many Aggies may remember— during last season's contest down in Austin, his bellicose countenance led to a Gavin Kash ejection— and now, he's hitting in the 8-hole for the UCLA Bruins. He was all too happy to chime in after last night's massive victory for the Bruins.
Former Texas Longhorn Will Gasparino adds insult to injury by taunting Texas A&M after UCLA run-rules Aggies
Gasparino made sure to sound off as soon as he had an opportunity, making sure that he let Aggies know that his three-run homer to put the game away was personal— if they couldn't tell from his staredown of the Aggie dugout.
"I still don't like those guys," said Gasparino after the game, while the Aggies licked their wounds. "I think I owed it to [Texas] to put those guys away early."
“I don’t go to Texas anymore, but I still don’t like those guys.”

What can Aggies really say to this? Texas A&M looked pretty bad the whole night, only registering two hits and cycling through their pitching staff far more than they would have wanted to, all else being equal.
Listen, this stings, but when you lose in the fashion that the Aggies did, you lose the right to bite back. Texas A&M will have to live to fight another day— they'll have an opportunity today to get some momentum back with a win over Arizona State.
