Former Texas A&M sharpshooter's new home is about as out of the blue as it gets

It's been a busy Friday for Bucky McMillan and the Texas A&M Aggies, as they have lost some key pieces of the 2025-26 squad. McMillan is already making up for it. Texas A&M pulled off a stunner, landing outstanding Kansas State guard P.J. Haggerty, an immediate boost to the Aggies after losing their Spanish sharpshooter. It doesn't completely make up for it, but it's a strong start.

Replacing Ruben Dominguez won't be easy, but he made his decision by committing to Xavier. A head scratcher to say the least, but at least it's not a rival school or anywhere close to the SEC. Xavier could really use a sharpshooter like Dominguez, considering they went 10th in the Big East last season.

Losing Dominguez was heartbreaking, considering he broke out when few expected him to, but that's how great his shot was. If he were to stay next season, he would've likely started under McMillan to get more reps and points.

It's where the money is, right? Xavier is looking for a serious boost to their team this year, and while Dominguez still would've benefited from playing under McMillan, he may be the star waiting to happen at a school like Xavier. It's not an SEC school, and it's actually pretty far from SEC country, which A&M fans won't mind.

Did the crystal ball have this on its radar? I don't believe so. But either way, Xavier is getting one of the underrated dead-eye shooters out there.

We wish Dominguez well in his journey. Hate to see him leave, but he's going to do some ginormous things over at Xavier.
