Texas A&M Maroon and White game analysis - Shone: Isaiah Horton

I've given Horton plenty of flowers for his performance today, but he deserves an encore here. He looked the part of what Texas A&M fans were expecting of him coming into the season and then some, pulling down some incredibly difficult contested catches.

To listen to him after the game, too, makes it seem like the Aggies got an excellent add to their locker room as well as their personnel on the field. This was a home run in every way imaginable for Texas A&M's coaching staff, as Horton looks like he will be a key piece of things in all facets for them.

The complementary role he plays to Craver's fast-twitch run after the catch ability will help the Aggies' passing game open up some new layers for the upcoming season. That's welcome news, as Texas A&M's route combinations and overall plan for the passing game looked questionable at times last season, especially when Marcel was struggling late in the year.

Horton can provide a spark with his ability to go up and get the ball, as well as how proficient he is at pulling in tough catches on the sideline. He was the highlight of the day for Aggie fans, without a doubt, and it looks like a big season is coming his way in the maroon and white.
