After Aaron Glenn named New York Jets HC, former Texas A&M football stars could be congregating in New York

Texas A&M football fans everywhere were overjoyed to learn that Aaron Glenn, a former Aggie player in the heyday of RC Slocum, is getting his shot as an NFL head coach. It was announced yesterday that Glenn would be taking on the New York Jets job in an attempt to turn around what has too often been a patently underachieving franchise.

Glenn has definitely earned his shot in New York. Alongside Ben Johnson, the coordinator tandem that Aggie Dan Campbell had assembled in Detroit made up the two hottest names in the head coaching market over the last two years for what they've accomplished in Motor City.

Now, though, some interesting developments have come down as Glenn has begun the task of assembling his staff. Most notable for Aggie fans is that Glenn may be considering adding yet another former Texas A&M football player to his staff up in the city that never sleeps.

Jerrod Johnson, one of the most memorable and talented QBs in Aggie history, has been the quarterbacks coach for the Houston Texans for almost two years. Under his tutelage, CJ Stroud has developed into one of the NFL's brightest stars, and teams are beginning to take notice.

You can bet that means that Glenn has had his eye on Johnson as well. A report yesterday from Dylan Delgatto mentioned that Johnson was a candidate for Glenn's offensive coordinator up in New York.

This could be the makings of another Aggie-heavy staff in the NFL. With Johnson's reputation on the rise, this would be quite the step for the young QBs coach. I'm sure Texas A&M football fans everywhere would love to see this come together— and if it's a success, Johnson himself could be only a few years away from his own HC job.
