Texas A&M comes into this game with more health than they've had in some time at key positions.

Texas A&M football will be without three players today against the UTSA Roadrunners, one with a more severe injury than the other. Senior offensive lineman Reuben "Deuce" Fatheree will be out for this game with an injury that will sideline him for the next couple of games, and freshman receiver Jerome Myles is out for the year. Additionally, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Isendre "Papa" Ahfua is out for the year.

While it's never ideal to have an injury on your squad, of course, this is— all things considered— better than where the Aggies have started in the last couple of years. Fall camp injuries have been something of a sad regularity for A&M in the last few years, of course, and the Aggie coaching staff took care to ensure that they could avoid that as much as possible.

For the most part, they achieved that— even the injuries that did occur were to players not expected to play a huge role on this year's team, or they have a short enough timeline that the Aggies can withstand their absence.

Injury report: Texas A&M without three players for opener against UTSA

Texas A&M expects both Myles and Ahfua to be big time players for them in the future, but as far as 2025 is concerned, both guys were projected as backups. Ahfua may not have seen the field in any big games, given that the Aggies go about seven deep with returning starters, but Myles may have parlayed his five-star-level gifts to make an appearance later on in the year.

Fatheree is a guy that the Aggies certainly don't want to be without for long. He's extremely experienced and can play either tackle position for the Ags, so having him available is vital for Adam Cushing's unit.

Luckily, it appears that Fatheree could be back as soon as the Notre Dame game, which would be ideal. It's okay if he sits out these first two contests against UTSA and Utah State, but missing the game up in South Bend would be deleterious to A&M's chances. Hopefully, he recovers quickly— but for now, it's better that he rests.
