Fans around the nation are beginning to understand just how big of a pickup this was for Texas A&M football.

Texas A&M football fans have known that Isaiah Horton was one of the most important pickups from the transfer portal for Mike Elko's program this past cycle, but fans of other programs have mostly overlooked him. That is, up until he did what he did in the spring game this past weekend.

Horton turned the first half of the Maroon and White game into his own personal highlight reel, much to the delight of fans. The first look that the Aggie faithful had at the new no. 7 for Texas A&M was exactly what they had hoped, as he made contested catch after contested catch.

He did it in several ways, too. It wasn't so much going up and high-pointing his catches over tight coverage— which he can certainly do thanks to his large frame— but going to the ground and flashing his ball skills to get around corners and make the play.

Texas A&M receiver Isaiah Horton is on the cusp of becoming household name after breakout spring game performance

That performance has The Film Guy, also known as Brooks Austin— one of the most knowledgeable and respected voices in the college football space— buying all of the Isaiah Horton stock that he can get headed into next season.

It's not hard to see why. Horton's athleticism and playmaking ability that he put on display in the game is enough to wow any objective onlooker— though you'll find plenty of slanted takes (mostly from Longhorns and scorned Alabama fans) in the replies.

The complementary role that Horton can play to Mario Craver in the Aggies' receiving corps is exciting, to say the least. Craver and KC Concepcion were very similar players in a lot of ways, but Horton is a completely different cut of receiver, which will give new OC Holmon Wiggins quite a few options.

If Horton goes off this year, too, it will be quite the advertisement for this Aggie offense when they are considered by other portal receivers. That would make two straight seasons where a year in the Maroon and White leads to a big breakout and rise in NFL Draft stock— and that's an easy sell job for any coach.
