Texas A&M's top receiver from this past year, NC State transfer KC Concepcion, has been in the news a lot lately— mostly for his projected first-round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft, but there's another salient reason he's being discussed.

Concepcion is well known to Aggie fans as a first-class player and human being, as shown by just one of many stories that fans have about his positive interactions with them. He has put that on display once again in a tough situation, as he spoke out via his Instagram story after being criticized last week for the way he speaks.

For those who don't know, KC has grown up with a stutter, bravely overcoming it and speaking with confidence at press conferences and other venues. Vestiges of it are still evident, though, so those who are unaware of this fact will sometimes latch on and make fun— which is what happened last week at the NFL Combine.

Concepcion was the topic of a lot of discussion after those criticisms late last week, and today, he posted a statement on his Instagram, which is reproduced in the below post from NFL on ESPN:

That part right in the first paragraph, where KC says he wants to "be a role model for those who may be scared to speak up who may be afraid and not confident" is where he has put his money where his mouth is. He has taken multiple chances to encourage those who deal with the same issue that he has, and has been the consummate encouraging presence in those encounters.

This should not only prove once again what a classy human being KC is, but that any NFL team would be lucky to have him in their locker room. Sometimes, with a guy as talented as Concepcion, teams have to look past some red flags— but with the former Aggie receiver, it's green flags all the way.
