News broke late last night that Lane Kiffin was bringing a coach down to LSU that is quite the familiar name to Texas A&M football fans— but unlike with Blake Baker, Aggie fans certainly won't be happy that this coach will be in Baton Rouge going forward.
Elijah Robinson, who was recently the DC at Syracuse before taking a demotion in recent days, was one of A&M's top assistants under Jimbo Fisher who made a name for himself as a top recruiter. He brought in lots of five-star talent to Texas A&M— Shemar Stewart and Walter Nolen, just to name a few.
He oversaw a time where the defensive line was the most dominant unit on this Texas A&M football team, so it certainly won't be a happy thing for Aggie fans that he's now headed to Baton Rouge. The Aggies are recruiting well on the defensive line, but the next-level talent that Robinson can get on the trail is what the Aggies best know him for.

There were lots of calls for Robinson to take over as the head man in College Station following Fisher's firing, mostly thanks to how popular he was with the players. It was certainly a strong movement within the locker room, but it didn't end up happening on the field.
At that point, Robinson ended up taking a job at Syracuse with his longtime friend Fran Brown as the defensive coordinator for the Orange. After a disappointing couple of seasons in that role, Robinson was recently demoted to co-DC and defensive line coach— and now, he's defecting back to the SEC.
Aggie fans no doubt wish that they could have brought E-Rob back to College Station in some capacity given their history with him, but that didn't come to pass. Defensive line recruiting just got that much harder in the Aggies' footprint.
