The leadup to Texas A&M's game against Miami has felt like equal parts matchup breakdowns and Le'Veon Moss watch for Aggie fans. The star running back for the Aggies is a key piece of Texas A&M's offense, as fans well know, and so his prospective availability after missing the last six games is paramount.
There have been conflicting reports in the leadup to this week, but the most recent intel suggested that Aggie fans may have to wait things out until kickoff, calling Moss a "game-time decision" for the Aggies. While there's been no official word otherwise, a recent update from Molly McGrath of ESPN has begun to slant things ever so slightly in one direction.
ESPN's Molly McGrath reports Texas A&M is "hopeful" Moss will play; Star RB has been a full participant in practice
The report emanating from ESPN during halftime of the Oklahoma-Alabama game was music to the ears of anxious Texas A&M fans, as Molly McGrath all but confirmed what the Aggies had been hoping. Mike Elko and his staff are reportedly hopeful that Moss can go in this game, and he's been participating fully in practice headed up to the showdown with the Canes.
It's tough to oversell what it would mean to the Aggies if Moss is able to go. His physicality and ability to pick up tough yardage will cause teams to be highly reluctant to leave a light box for the Aggie run game, which forces some tough situations for opponents when they have to figure out how to account for the QB run and the pass game that the Ags have put on tape.
Miami is a team that's well-equipped to deal with physicality, but it bears mentioning that this is going to be the most physical team they've played all year. The Aggies are extremely tested, having run the SEC gamut this year— facing down team after team with massive talent on the lines of scrimmage.
If thins keep trending this way, it will be a huge plus for the Aggies. Hopefully that's exactly what we see happen.
