Texas A&M football is looking to turn things around after a sloppy game on their home turf against Texas in 2024.

With offensive weapons like Marcel Reed, Le'Veon Moss and Rueben Owens back for a full season together, along with the transfers coming in such as Mario Craver and KC Conception, the Aggies are looking to bounce back from their sore ending last season.

The kickoff time for last year's game in College Station wasn't revealed until mid-November. Now, the fans won't have to wait in agony this season, as it looks like it's going to be a faster turnaround from the Thanksgiving table to the gridiron this time around.

Aggies-Longhorns matchup set for Friday night at 6:30 on Nov. 28

The Longhorns and Aggies have a long standing tradition of playing on Thanksgiving weekend, and they've played on all days throughout the college football weekend in their rivalry history.

It was on Thanksgiving night in 2011 when Justin Tucker kicked in a 40-yard field goal at the buzzer to beat the Aggies. The last time the Aggies beat the Longhorns was in 2010, when the Longhorns were still soul searching for their next Colt McCoy, and the Aggies led by Ryan Tannehill got the best of the inexperienced Garrett Gilbert.

The last time the Aggies and Longhorns played on a Friday, though, it was an upset win for the Aggies over no. 13 Texas. That game was in Kyle Field, but this upcoming one will be in Austin.

Opinions are a bit split on this move, with some fans decrying the shift to Friday. It's hard to deny that this game will get a lot of eyes, though, as it will be the only big game in this slot.

Texas A&M fans got exactly what they wanted with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff time last November. Now, it's Texas fans getting what they want as well, a primetime matchup in Austin between two highly competitive SEC teams.
