Texas fans are attempting to dunk on A&M again, and it's going about as well as you might expect for a team that just got embarrassed on the field.
Texas A&M fans came away from the game against UTSA, almost without exception, thinking that the Aggies needed to be far better against the run than what they put on tape in the first half. Into the first drive of the second half, the Aggies were allowing too much explosiveness from the Roadrunners offense, giving up a 75-yard run to RB Robert Henry.
After that, though, the Roadrunner run game was all but entirely shut down. The Aggies sewed up whatever issue they had for the remainder of the game, and there was no daylight for Henry or any other RB on Jeff Traylor's squad from that point on.
However, this is not manifestly evident to casual box score watchers. If you don't bother turning on the tape and instead survey the final statline, you may think that the Roadrunners were simply gashing the Aggies all game on the ground, rather than ripping off three or four huge runs to heavily weight the final per-carry average.
Texas fan site attempts dunk against A&M but gets stuffed due to their own ignorance
As is to be expected, the Longhorns fan site Orangebloods either is practicing such shallowness of analysis, or is attempting to take advantage of others that do so. They posted the following on X in an attempt to take the Aggies down a peg, as Texas is down in the dumps following their team getting punked up in Columbus:
A UTSA RB averaged 11.1 yards rushing against A&Mπ

Texas Rushed for 243 last year against A&M without CJ Baxter.
They are about to FEAST in November π pic.twitter.com/MukVYVXNC3
Of course, even notwithstanding the lack of analytical depth on display here, this is extremely ironic, given that this is almost exactly what the Longhorns allowed to the exact same running back last year:
Can't believe A&M allowed Robert Henry to rush for 11.1 yards per carry less than a year after the Longhorns completely bottled him up for (checks notes) 10.8 yards per carry. https://t.co/shvA5xNAJG pic.twitter.com/Mfw2mwJXAl

This is simply too perfect. It's almost like Orangebloods was looking to get this attempt rejected at the rimβ just how little research do you have to do to post something like this?
It'll be a war of words up until November 28th, of course, when Texas and A&M face off down in Austin. We'll see where things stand at that point, but as of right now, this try at a slight is a non-starter.
