This was arguably Mike Elko's best win in his Texas A&M career, and he had a lot to say about it.

There was a scary moment in the game where Bryce Anderson suffered a brutal injury late in the second quarter. The good news: Anderson gave the thumbs up and was taken to a hospital. Another positive is that the senior safety had feeling in all of his limbs. Significant news, but of course, we wish for a safe recovery before he ever thinks about playing on a football field again.

This Notre Dame team became the first in program history to start a season with two straight losses to two ranked teams. That's thanks to Texas A&M and the game plan they came with.

Mike Elko had plenty to say after this wild 41-40 win in South Bend, including Bryce Anderson's injury, Marcel Reed's game-winning drive and Nate Boerkircher catching the ball that silenced Notre Dame Stadium.

Mike Elko on the game-winning touchdown pass was designed for Boerkircher:

"Yeah, we kind of thought that's where it would go because we knew they were doubling two slots, and so, we got him one-on-one in the corner, and he came down there and made a play."

Mike Elko on Marcel Reed's short history of game-winning drives:

"This is the third time in a row where he led us on a game-winning drive. It got overshadowed last year because we lost those games."

Mike Elko on Bryce Anderson's injury:

"Still praying for Bryce. At this point, all things are positive. We will continue to pray for a positive resolution."

Mike Elko on the receivers against Notre Dame:

"We came into the game thinking we could win on the outside, and we did."

Mike Elko on this defining win:

"Yeah, it's a next step. It's the next step. We're a 3-0 football team. We got a lot of big games left. That's what it's like playing in this league, but we had to go on the road at night and beat a ranked team and we did that tonight."
