With college football more than five months away, Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko held a press conference on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the current state of his football program.

Texas A&M football is looking to bounce back from their poor finish on what was a strong start to their season. Months after Connor Weigman was benched for Marcel Reed, it was revealed that Weigman was playing through a brutal injury on his throwing shoulder, which was the icing to the cake on a string of unfortunate luck for Aggie quarterbacks in the past four years.

Now with Reed becoming the de facto first string quarterback, it's a more clear picture of what we can expect in 2025. Elko also touched on his young, emerging utility player, Terry Bussey as to which role he'll be playing next season.

Elko says Bussey will make the full-time move to wide receiver for Texas A&M football

There's no doubt that last year's freshman has raw speed and quickness.

We saw Bussey known for being the return specialist for the majority of the season, but he also got reps late in the season from the backfield carrying the football. He played receiver and snagged some nice grabs as well, but now, the incoming sophomore will be transitioning full-time to receiver.

Bussey was responsible for 535 all-purpose yards last season, and with a full offseason and more reps coming his way. With the Micah Hudson experiement being a short one in College Station, this only increases more opportunites to come in Bussey's direction.

This is a great move by Elko and the coaching staff. His natural position needs to be what he plays. Of course, they can move him in the backfield for carries whenever necessary, but Elko is making it very clear that Bussey's talent will not be wasted for the remainder of his time as an Aggie.
