The SEC is getting ready to move to nine conference games in 2026, which in turn means there will be three teams that every SEC team will play every single season. Even right now, schedules have been pretty consistent in who opponents are, but with the nine-game schedule, there will now be three guaranteed opponents every season.
For Texas A&M, they will get to continue the in-state rivalry with Texas every year, which is something fans would have probably rioted over if they didn't. The Aggies will also have a game against LSU each season, which looks good on paper right now as the Tigers are typically a team that competes year in and year out.
The one that doesn't make a lot of sense is the Missouri Tigers. In the last 10 years, the Aggies and the Tigers have only played twice, with Texas A&M taking both of those games. Altogether, Texas A&M is 10-7 against Missouri, with the first game coming in 1957. These teams have not played each other consistently since 2010 to 2014, when they played each other each year.
After that, there was a game in 2021 and then, most recently, in 2024. These are two teams that don't play each other very often, so to now play them every season seems a bit strange, and head coach Mike Elko thought the same.
"Missouri, I'm not sure how that fit in, but it is what it is," Elko said. "However, they did that, it will be fine."

It does seem odd that Missouri will be a team the Aggies will now play every season, but when looking at all the opponents everyone got, it seems like it was a bit more geographical than anything else. Like for the Florida Gators, a team that the Aggies play pretty frequently, they don't even play Texas A&M or Tennessee every season, which are staple games for both teams.
This SEC schedule is certainly going to be different, but something that everyone will have to get used to.
