Texas A&M will make their SEC debut against the Auburn Tigers after an incredible win on the road against Notre Dame. One thing we've come to know about Mike Elko is that he always gives respect to his peers in the SEC, and he did no different complimenting Hugh Freeze and his bunch.
Elko was asked if his pass rush was going to feast against the Auburn offensive line, which gave up 10 sacks against Oklahoma. Connor Lew, the veteran center went down in the Oklahoma game but came back to play. Elko knows that nothing ever comes easy in the SEC and made sure to tell his players using his own style of 'human psychology.'
"I think (Auburn's) extremely talented up front," Elko said. "I think we got a ton of respect for them. Human psychology says without a doubt the best unit on the field Saturday will be the Auburn offensive line. I can promise you that."
Elko shuts down anything easy for the pass rush group vs. Auburn
This is what you want to hear from your head coach. Any head coach that doesn't challenge even his strongest group to be ready shouldn't be a head coach at all anywhere.
Auburn is a very respected football team who had more than a chance to beat Oklahoma. Oklahoma escaped from bad calls and even some whistles that should've been called, such as an unsportsmanlike conduct for a receiver faking his way to the sideline, which resulted in a touchdown.
The Tigers are tough for the Aggies every year, and this is no different considering Jackson Arnold really showed out on the ground against Baylor and others. The running attack is what killed the Aggies last year, and they also got Cam Coleman to worry about, so there will be a ton of storylines headed into this game.
The point is: Elko assures us all that nothing is ever 'easy' to feast on, especially in the SEC.
