A Texas A&M legend just set the coveted record fans have long been waiting for.

The single-season sack record now belongs to Myles Garrett, and he's now all alone in the history books as he passed T.J. Watt and Michael Strahan in Week 18 for sack number 23. It also helped that the Browns won on a game-winning field goal against the Bengals.

Texas A&M fans knew Garrett's potential from the very beginning of his NFL career, and this undoubtedly makes him the best pass rusher in the NFL today.

Just like he always does, he got a fast start off the edge, and Joe Burrow just gave up on the play and went down, allowing for Garrett to reach down and tackle him. His teammates celebrated with him, and the camera cut to his family with all smiles in the stands. It would've been nice to see him do it in front of the Cleveland crowd, but it was the second-best feeling to do it in front of your rival opponent.

Garrett has been flirting with the record for over a month, as we here at the Gig Em' Gazette have been tracking the math to determine when he would set the record. It's almost a storybook moment to have it happen in Week 18, but it happened. We all know what the haters will say, too.

"He had an extra week to do it."

It's not Garrett's fault that the NFL added an extra week to the schedule. The 17 games are controversial for plenty of reasons, but this was the same thing when Cooper Kupp took home the receiving triple crown.

Breaking the NFL's single-season sack record isn't an easy thing to do. Michael Strahan held the record by himself for nearly two decades. Some others, like Jared Allen, got close to him but never got to Strahan. Garrett's record will be the ultimate argument for his case in the Hall of Fame.

Congratulations, Myles! You deserve it.
