Nick Saban was not one of the most beloved figures in College Station during his time at Alabama, but he has been quite complimentary of the Aggie program several times since he retired from coaching and headed into broadcasting.
The GOAT of college football was on College Gameday this morning, as he has been since he retired, and sounded off on Texas A&M and how they're looking so far this year. His comments were effusive in their praise, and it will no doubt get Aggie fans hyped hearing what Saban thinks about the 2025 A&M program.
In particular, it looks like he's impressed with Marcel Reed, who has grown in estimation around the country after that win over the Irish. Here's what Saban had to say.

The Aggies are 3-0 after a win over Notre Dame, and the team, along with QB Marcel Reed, is getting a lot of praise from the legendary coach.

"The team that I'm really impressed with is Texas A&M. Marcel Reed has done a fantastic job. I mean, to go to Notre Dame... that's a hard place to win. And to go in there and have the mental toughness to sustain, come back in the game and win the game, it's just— it speaks a lot about the character, the competitive character of this team. And if Marcel Reed stays healthy, they're going to be hard to beat."
There's no doubt at all that Nick Saban knows a good football team when he sees them. The fact that he's eyeballing the Aggies and has identified them as a contender means that A&M fans' dreams of a huge 2025 season aren't all that far off after all.
The Aggies still have a tough road ahead of them. They have to face off with Saban's bitter rivals, the Auburn Tigers, a week from today. Luckily for the Ags, though, they will get the Tigers on the back half of a SEC road trip after Hugh Freeze and company head to Norman to take on OU today.
This Texas A&M team really has announced themselves to the nation with that big win over Notre Dame. There will be a lot of momentum that they'll gain if they keep this level of play up— or even improve— over the next few weeks.
