Texas A&M football's season will be defined early. With an early trip to South Bend to decide the direction of their season, there's already growing optimism around the Texas A&M fanbase— and though, you never want to see injuries, a recent announcement about two season-ending injuries to Notre Dame players doesn't hurt the Aggies' chances.
There's now a problem among the Notre Dame quarterback room that might benefit the Aggies too. One report has emerged from On3 that there's not really any separation between the two quarterbacks vying for the starting role.
C.J. Carr and Kenny Minchey are the ones battling it out now. This could end up biting the Aggies in the end because of the unpredictability of the situation, but this could also be another game-changer to help out the Ags.
Notre Dame QB's still a gray area for the 2025 season

What the Aggies defense needs to prepare for is that both quarterbacks aren't afraid to scramble and get loose. Carr is more of a thrower, but he can escape out of the pocket if needed. The linebackers like Taurean York and Scooby Williams will have a lot on their plate to make open field tackles. Both QB's played well in the Blue and Gold game, but nobody really stood out.
It also takes a while for any full-time starting quarterback to get their feet wet. Not many guys like Trevor Lawrence just pop in and make an impact right away, but this is still going to be a tough game in South Bend nonetheless.
This is still an unpredictable scenario for how things will look in a few weeks, but this could be a great development for the Aggie defense with the Irish just fighting each other. The Irish have a lot more to worry about internally than their battle against the Aggies in September.
