Optimism quickly growing around Texas A&M football gray area from 2024

It starts in the trenches.

Texas A&M was hit hard when Le'Veon Moss suffered a season-ending injury against South Carolina last season. Of course, with the Aggie defense not being able to tackle Gamecock QB LaNorris Sellers, that game was pretty much a wrap.

The run game clearly suffered without Moss last season, but with Pro Football Focus recognizing Texas A&M as the third best offensive line in college football, there's no excuse as to why the Aggie offense can't significantly improve from the 2024 season.

PFF circled back around Texas A&M to give some love to the ground game.

Texas A&M football is PFF's No. 5 RB unit in college football

The Aggies help return a veteran running game to college football. With Ar'maj Reed-Adams and Trey Zuhn III set to improve their draft stock this season, this gives Moss, Amari Daniels and Rueben Owens the tools they need for a successful run game.

We look at Daniels as the tough Marion Barber-like running back to push through defenders, but Moss is the same type of punishing back, going for 4.4 yards after contact last season. Multiply that with the veteran Aggie team coming back, there's ton of optimism for this team next year.

Let's not forget that we had a whole new coaching group last season. Mike Elko and Collin Klein will have another year under their belt to fix the offense from the inconsistency on last season. Sure, the Moss injury and the quarterback controversy were their own stories last season, but there are plenty of high expectations for the Aggies this season.

This isn't even to mention newcomers like Tiger Riden or Jamarion Morrow. Add in a returning Rueben Owens, and this is an intimidating group.

If the numbers on paper don't follow through, the Ags offense will probably be called out on it, but we can safely agree that this is a top five running back unit in all of college football.
