Date Announced for Texas A&M Football Spring Game
When is the Spring Game for Texas A&M Football?
The annual spring game for Texas A&M football is always a time of excitement among the fan base. It’s the culmination of spring practice, the last major marker on the offseason football calendar before fall practice starts, and a chance to view freshman and other newcomers.
Texas A&M football announced today that the Spring Game will occur on Saturday, April 20. TV information as well as the exact time will be announced later.
This year’s spring game for Texas A&M football will, of course, be of particular interest to Aggie fans, as not only are there some exciting newcomers, but the coaching staff has been remade. You never want to give away too much of what your offense will look like, but new OC Collin Klein’s welcome addition will doubtless be front and center during this period. The offensive line play will be a particular point of interest.
Perhaps saying that there are only “some” newcomers is selling it short—almost a full quarter of the Aggie roster was turned over due to the portal, graduation, and NFL draft declarations, which then led in turn to a massive influx from the portal after a massive effort from Elko and his new coaching staff. Names like Nic Scourton, BJ Mayes, Dezz Ricks, Cyrus Allen, and Jabre Barber are ones that will doubtless figure in prominently during this upcoming season, and we will get our first look at them in Maroon and White during the spring game.
There will be position battles galore to follow—especially in the secondary, given all the talent that came in via transfer on the back end of the defense. Then, of course, there’s the fact that this will be the first time we will get to see Conner Weigman in action since late September of 2023. The now third-year (!!!) QB is slated to have a huge year in Klein’s offense, and I for one cannot wait to see him back behind center.
