Projecting how Texas A&M football's depth chart will shake out in Game 1 vs. Notre Dame

Less than a week from this current moment, Texas A&M football will actually be out on Kyle Field, playing in the biggest game of the weekend. The Aggies will have the eyes of the college football world upon them on Saturday evening as they face off with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Of course, even though the game is now so close, there are still so many questions we have about this team and—more specifically—this depth chart. With so much turnover following the previous regime, it's been even more difficult than normal to predict how the team will shake out from top to bottom, personnel-wise.

That hasn't stopped anyone from trying, of course—myself included. There are some positions that are harder to predict than others, but there are some places where it's really anyone's guess.

Let's start with a position where there should be really no argumentation.

Texas A&M football roster predictions - QB1: Conner Weigman (Backup: Marcel Reed)

Weigman has a chance to be the best quarterback in the conference, and therefore one of the best in the nation. We've heard the hype around him—darkhorse Heisman contender, possible QB1 in next year's draft, etc.—but he still needs to go out and prove it.

If he stays healthy, though, the combo of his skills and Klein's offense looks to me that it will go a long way in proving the hype correct. His ability from a feel for the game perspective is off the charts, and he has the arm to make any throw on the field.

I wrote in my column yesterday about why I'm going with Reed over Henderson for the backup spot. I have the running ability as basically a wash, but I think Marcel is more accurate throwing from the pocket and on the run.
