Power ranking the SEC after week 2: #5 Missouri

I know, I know, Mizzou still hasn’t played anybody. But they also have yet to allow a single point this year, and that should probably count for something!

The Tigers are flying under the radar at the moment, as they probably should. Murray State and Buffalo are not exactly premier opponents. But it’s been hard to find a huge weakness so far in this team; they’ve been highly efficient on both offense and defense.

Speaking of defense, the unit for the Tigers on that side of the ball has looked a lot better than I anticipated thus far this season. Again, it’s not as if they’ve played some outrageously talented offenses or anything, but they’ve been a lot more buttoned-up there than I thought they would be after losing so much (including their DC).

Boston College comes to town this week for an unexpectedly staunch test. The Eagles have looked really solid so far, and I’ll be watching with great interest to see how the Tigers deal with them. Then, a visit from a similarly surprising test in Vandy before the Tigers head to College Station.
