Power ranking the SEC after week 6: #3 - Alabama

I know, I know. But the game was, statistically speaking, way slanted in the direction of the Crimson Tide. From a predictive standpoint, it was not especially significant.

But still, there’s something to be said about the in-game situational awareness and ability of this Tide team. From last week, when they rose to the moment spectacularly, to this week, when they faded just as spectacularly, is quite the dropoff.

So, who is this Tide team? They’re still probably a top three team in the league. We know their offensive talent is probably unmatched throughout the conference. They have a lot of skill on the defensive side, as well, though they aren’t exactly smelling like a rose on that side of the ball at the moment.

We’ll have to see how they handle South Carolina this week. If they come out with a purpose and absolutely destroy the Gamecocks, fears should mostly be quelled—or at least fade to the background. If it’s another struggle… well, we’ll just have to see.
