Texas A&M football lands top-100 CB Adonyss Currie out of CA; Talented DB chose Aggies over Miami, Texas, Nebraska

Texas A&M football has really got things rolling on the recruiting front with summer approaching. The latest addition to their class is top-100 player Adonyss Currie out of Quartz Hill high school in Lancaster, California. Currie chose the Aggies over the Miami Hurricanes, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Texas Longhorns.

Currie becomes the second-highest rated recruit in the Aggies' class, behind QB Husan Longstreet. He is the fourth CB in the class. Though he is ranked 74th in the composite ratings, 247Sports has him at 42 in their in-house ratings.

According to his social media pages, Currie stands at 6'3", furthering the theme of big, long corners in this class for Mike Elko. He has a verified 100m time of 10.57—a true burner out on the boundary.

This is yet another win for Mike Elko over the Texas Longhorns when it comes to cornerbacks. The Aggies beat out the team down in Austin for Cobey Sellers earlier this month. The Aggies are also in some heated battles with the Horns for several other five-star type talents in this class—so far, they've done well for themselves in these head-to-heads.

The Aggies could possibly go three-for-three with the top players in California if all goes well. Five star DB Dijon Lee will take a visit to College Station this summer, and the Aggies could close their CB class in a huge way if he pulls the trigger.

This was a huge pickup for the Aggies, further bolstering a very long and very quick cornerback class for Mike Elko. Defensive back appears to be his specialty both on and off the field at this point, as the Aggies are absolutely cleaning up at the position on the recruiting trail.
