Where Texas A&M football stands with top 2025 targets: Aggies in the mix for a pair of five-stars at wideout

I've written quite a bit about receiver recruiting for Texas A&M football here recently—mostly about those players who the Aggies are trying to get out of the portal. They've come up just short in their previous two portal attempts, but there's still a sliver of time here for a priority target to emerge.

When it comes to high school, though, the Ags have been doing yeoman's work so far in the 2025 cycle. There are three five-star receivers in the state of Texas for this cycle: LSU commit Dakorien Moore out of Duncanville, Alamo Heights' Michael Terry III, and Sachse's Kaliq Lockett.

The Aggies are positioned well with these latter two players. Terry and Lockett were both repeat visitors to campus during the spring, and by all accounts, Holmon Wiggins is doing a great job with these relationships so far in the cycle.

Either one of these guys would be a headliner for the offensive class if the Ags were to land them. Both are north of 6 feet tall, but they have slightly different frames: Terry is more solidly built and Lockett is more wiry. Both, however, are extremely explosive.

There are some other names to watch here as well. A&M has also notched a visit from Mississippi five-star Caleb Cunningham, but that one has the makings of an in-state battle between the Rebels and Bulldogs. Taz Williams Jr., of Red Oak, has been a guy that the Aggies have had high interest in, and he appears to be just as interested in them. Top-50 receiver Andrew Marsh has been to campus a couple of times as well.

Though the Ags have yet to notch a receiver commit, I feel good about the direction they are heading at the position currently. They're locked in some dogfights that will last a while in this cycle, but if they can close the deal on one or two of these high-profile guys, they'll be in great shape.
