Predicting which 5-star domino will fall for Texas A&M next after Mark Matthews

Texas A&M is perfectly positioned to land another 5-star prospect in the near future— the only question is which one it will be.

Texas A&M has just landed the nation's top offensive lineman in Mark Matthews, winning out for his pledge over the Miami Hurricanes in a massive coup. The Aggies now have two five-star offensive tackle commitments to go along with their three five-star defensive backs— and they are nowhere near done landing players from among the nation's elite.

With Matthews now in the boat, the Aggies are looking to pick up some more big time commitments soon. Here are three five-star options that could end up in the maroon and white next.

Predicting which 5-star commitment will pop for Texas A&M next after Mark Matthews pledge

WR Eric McFarland

The electric receiver out of IMG Academy in Florida has been high on the Aggies for some time now. The Aggies have done a great job here for one of the top playmakers in the entire nation, and it could well be him who decides to give his pledge to Mike Elko and the Aggies next. McFarland would join Jaden Upshaw as wide receiver commitments for the Aggies if this comes to pass.

It helps Texas A&M that five-star edge rusher Zyron Forstall, a current Aggie commit, is teammates with McFarland. Forstall is no doubt in his ear to let him know that joining up in College Station would make for an extremely formidable combination, which has to help the Aggies.

That said, there is no currently-announced timeline for McFarland, so though the Aggies are trending in a big way— which you can see in the various predictions for him across different recruiting sites— he may not be the next one to shut it down. He is taking an official visit to College Station at the end of the month, however, so that could speed things along if it goes well.

LB Kaden Henderson

Another five-star Floridian, Henderson is the archetypal elite linebacker that Texas A&M has had such tough luck with over the past few years. The Aggies have had some great signees at the position, like Noah MIkhail, but when it comes to prospects of Henderson's caliber, they have always had some misfortune befall them.

That can change thanks to the job that linebacker coach Travis Williams has done in this recruitment. Henderson is high on the Aggies and could join up with their current commit class soon if he decides to shut things down in the near future.

This won't be an easy task, though— the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are pushing hard for Henderson as well, and they won't go quietly. Henderson will be in town for an official visit on June 5, but the Aggies will most likely have to weather him taking trips to Ohio State and Notre Dame in the following weekends.

OL Albert Simien

Another five-star offensive lineman? Yes, you read that right. The Aggies have been in a fantastic position with Simien for some time now, ever since they were predicted to land the nation's top offensive guard back in January.

Hailing from Lake Charles, Louisiana, Simien would be a tough pull from the in-state LSU Tigers, but the Aggies have positioned themselves well here. Lane Kiffin no doubt views this as a statement recruitment early in his tenure as the Tigers' head coach, but the Ags look like they have the upper hand right now.

Notre Dame has something to say about this recruitment as well, as they are looking to make a statement themselves. Simien has not yet set a date for an official visit to College Station, but they are on his docket, and he may decide to join up with what is shaping up to be an all-time offensive line class sooner rather than later.
