Former Texas A&M edge Myles Garrett was recently involved in one of the biggest NFL trades of all time. The former Aggie is headed to the Los Angeles Rams, as he was traded for Jared Verse and draft compensation. This comes as a shock to NFL and Aggie fans, as it seemed as if Garrett was an untouchable player in the league.
The two-time Defensive Player of the Year and the seven-time Pro Bowler will now have a new squad for the upcoming season, and a squad he can more likely win a championship with than the Browns.
As mentioned, it was a shock that sent a wave across the whole NFL community, especially for Aggie fans. Here is reactions of when the breaking news was released.

Jon Gruden gives his input about how Verse is a solid pass rusher and isn't a bad addition to the Browns’ defense at all. But the Texas A&M product is truly one of a kind. No one can play like Garrett and he will now have the opportunity to show a different team is same work ethic and unreal skill.

Barstool Sports took a jab at Kenny Atkinson using a picture from when he said the Cavaliers should be up on the Knicks, when they hadn't won a game in the series, meaning once again that while Verse is good, but Garrett is just on a whole different level.
Myles Garrett in his Browns career:

- 125.5 sacks (franchise leader)
- 23 multi-sack games (franchise leader)
- All-time NFL single season sack record in 2025
- 2nd-most sacks in first 9 career seasons since 1982
- 5x AP First-Team All-Pro
- 2x AP NFL Defensive Player of the… pic.twitter.com/VwtGB4Co7h
Garrett is extremely decorated and is truly a one-of-a-kind player, often considered the best defensive lineman in the history of the NFL. This list of accomplishments is something that would be crazy for someone to acquire over their full career in the NFL. However, Garrett still has more left in the tank and is ready to show L.A. that there is a reason they had to give up so much for Garrett.
Texas A&M fans know a thing or two about what Garrett can bring to the table, as he was a monster for the maroon and white. He finished his college career with 143 tackles, 32.5 sacks and even an interception for the Aggies.
This trade, of course, doesn't have anything to do with how Garrett will be seen as an Aggie, but it could solidify him as one of the best Aggies to ever play football. The defensive end is still without a ring, and the Rams will give him a better chance to do that than Cleveland, and if Myles Garrett can acquire a Super Bowl, there will be few accolades that won't belong in his trophy case.
