Texas A&M started early on in the 2026 cycle after one of their most memorable games from last season. Aaron Gregory and Jordan "Breeze" Carter of Douglas County, Georgia, were visiting the Aggies for the LSU game, and after the raucous and absolutely off-the-chain environment that that game provided, both high-level prospects committed to the Aggies— and have remained so ever since.
Despite their pedigree and high name recognition early on this past cycle, though, both have fallen a bit in the rankings, as sometimes happens with players who are highly-regarded early on in their high school careers but don't have a strictly linear progression. However, both Gregory and Carter are, if early returns are any indication, ready to show that they should indeed regain their previous status.
Carter, in particular— a defensive end— has been really defying expectations so far in his first bit of action this season. If he continues this pattern, he could rocket up the rankings here sooner than later.
Texas A&M DE commit Jordan "Breeze" Carter showing he should be even higher-ranked than he currently is

Carter is showing that he is already a college-ready prospect, even though he has yet to finish his senior season in high school. This could bode well for his chances at starting early in College Station, though with the transfer portal nowadays, there could be more contributors in Elko's program competing after this.
Whatever the case, Carter is making a strong push to be moved up the rankings. Sometimes, evaluators can forget just how good a prospect is, and that may be just what happened with Jordan's fall over the last few months. Even if he doesn't get moved up, though, Aggie fans know just how good their defensive end commit is.
