Texas A&M football has had things rolling in the class of 2026 for quite some time, but with the numbers getting close to all they can bring in for that cycle, there's been some attention moving towards the upcoming class of 2027. The Aggies started off the rising junior class with a bang by snagging one of the top quarterbacks in the country in Jayce Johnson, but they're intent on making more early moves.
One of those moves just came to fruition with the addition of four-star offensive tackle DeMarrion Johnson out of Tyler, Texas. A beast from East Texas, Johnson is a towering presence already, standing at 6'5" and 300 LBs with impressive quickness.
Rated as a top 150 player in the nation by 247Sports, Johnson is a great start to an offensive line group that could soar pretty high in the rankings for this cycle. There is a lot of premium talent in the Lone Star State on the offensive line, including Kennedy Brown from Humble, Texas, and Johnson is a prominent member of that group.

Adam Cushing has been an absolute force on the trail since arriving in College Station, and this is just another example of his prowess.

“It just always felt like home,” Johnson said. “Ever since I stepped foot on campus. I saw everything they had to offer. Nothing came close.

This is a stellar way to get this class kicked off in the state of Texas, too, which boasts not only top-tier offensive line talent, but is loaded top to bottom. Players like the aforementioned Brown (no. 1 overall player in the composite rankings), CB John Meredith (no. 4 overall), DL Jalen Brewster (no. 8 overall), and LB Cooper Witten (son of Jason and the 12th overall player) highlight the wishlist of every program in the country from the Lone Star State.
This is a great way to get started for the Aggies, and they are no doubt using this to build on the momentum that Jayce Johnson's commitment gave them. This is an awesome sign for the cycle ahead already.
