Texas A&M Aggies news never stops, even in the dog days of summer. With SEC Media Days coming up soon, college football season is so close that fans can almost smell it— but for now, it’s all recruiting and projections.

Here’s all the Texas A&M Aggies news you need for July 7, 2026.

Texas A&M Aggies news: Bummer recruiting trends, baseball stardom, and more

Worrying trend begins for 5-star RB Landen Williams-Callis

The Aggies have been hot on the trail of 5-star running back Landen Williams-Callis for quite some time now, but the highly productive running back has been more than just a little bit circumspect about where he’s leaning as far as a commitment goes. The Aggie faithful have put their trust in Trooper Taylor in this one, but there have been a few worrying trends that have manifested recently.

The main thing is a bevy of predictions that have poured in recently for the Richmond Randle product to commit to the Longhorns, Texas A&M’s main competition in this one. Two predictions came in on June 23, and another came down yesterday in this vein.

The good news is that this momentum in predictions has only come from Texas beat writers so far. National writers have yet to switch their predictions off of Texas A&M— though, it should be said, those were made last October. We’ll have to see if this is real momentum or if Texas writers are out over their skis— again.

Nico Partida gets nod from Team USA baseball

Despite the subpar ending to the season for Texas A&M baseball, the Aggies saw the emergence of a guy who will no doubt be a star for them in the upcoming years in Nico Partida. Though he missed some time with an injury, he still put up some of the best stats of anyone on the roster this year, and he really flashed at the plate.

Those impressive traits are apparently still on display, as Partida qualified for USA Baseball’s Collegiate Team, alongside a star-studded cast. This could well be an all-SEC list, in all fairness, as you read down the list of colleges represented here— more than half are from the conference.

Partida will no doubt continue to represent the Aggies in impressive fashion in his role with USA baseball. This team will represent the USA in the first-ever World Collegiate Baseball Championship, and Partida will factor in in a big way.

Aggies turning around wide receiver room

After years in the wilderness as far as the wide receiver position is concerned, the Aggies are beginning to turn a corner. Texas A&M was recently listed as having one of the most impressive wide receiver commitment classes in the nation after adding Eric McFarland, and they’re only going up from here.

It’s not just the future that is exciting, though: it’s the present. Texas A&M’s receiver group from this previous year was one of the most exciting in the nation, and they will no doubt retain that status for the upcoming season.

This is a huge turnaround for Mike Elko and company after where they came from, and is a real testament to Holmon Wiggins in particular. Hopefully, they continue to excel out wide under Wiggins’ tutelage, now as the Aggies’ OC.
