Texas A&M baseball's path to College World Series just got clearly laid out

Texas A&M baseball needs to make it to Omaha with the talent they have on campus this year, and this is the way to do it.

Texas A&M baseball hasn't yet lived up to expectations in Michael Earley's short tenure in College Station, but there's still a good bit of promise for this season in particular. Last year was an unmitigated disaster down the stretch, but the Aggies have shown some resiliency this season that wasn't present in 2025.

With a 21-5 record so far, the Aggies are eyeing a College World Series run this spring if they can pull it together as the SEC slate rolls on. Fresh off of their first conference series win of the season, the Aggies still have quite a ways to go, but they're currently projecting pretty well— maybe even well enough to make it to Omaha.

To get there, they'll need to harness the kind of play we saw out of them this weekend against Missouri, but if Gavin Grahovac keeps up the pace he's been on over the last couple of games, they could begin to really get on a run. If they do so, making the final 8 may be more than just a pipe dream.

Texas A&M baseball projected to make Omaha with interesting route

PEARatings, an advanced statistical profile for college baseball teams, has the Aggies making it to the College World Series, albeit by a bit of a strange route:

The Aggies, in this simulation, are one of four SEC teams to make it to Omaha, along with Texas, Mississippi State, and Auburn. The Aggies would also face off with an SEC team in the super regionals, with LSU projected to visit College Station for a shot at the College World Series— talk about a toxic environment!

This would most likely mean the Aggies playing their rival Longhorns while in Omaha, just as they did a couple of years back. That's clearly the tougher side of the bracket, given how many SEC squads are over there (no offense, Florida State), but with no UCLA on the other side of the bracket, that one seems like much smoother sailing.

However it shakes out, it's encouraging that, at least at this point, the Aggies are right smack dab in the middle of the conversation here. Hopefully, we don't see another late-season regression out of this squad, and they make it up for a chance at the national title.
