The Michael Earley project at Texas A&M has been complicated to say the least.
After being one game away from becoming the national champions of college baseball a season ago, Texas A&M fans expected more championship moments this season, especially starting out as the AP No. 1 preseason team.
There have been calls to fire Earley after a slow start to the season. With Jim Scholssnagle enjoying paradise in Austin, this season has had Aggie fans steaming to the core. After staying alive against Mississippi State in the SEC Tournament, Aggie baseball star Jace LaViolette is coming on the offense to defend his main man.
LaViolette: 'We'll 'run through a brick wall' for Earley
LaViolette joined the 'SEC Nation' crew to discuss the dominant 9-0 win against Mississippi State. While acknowleding the struggling season, LaViolette put some respect on Earley, saying he still believes Earley is the best coach in the nation.
"We will never stop fighting especially for [Michael Earley]. I think we'll all run through a brick wall for that guy if he tells us too."

"There's always been fight in us. We'll never stop fighting, especially for (Earley), I think we'll all run through a brick wall for that guy if he tells us too. We love him and we love playing for him, and I truly believe that if you want to be good, and you want to be great, and you want to get better at this game, not only in this game but in life, you want to come play baseball at Texas A&M University and you want to be a part of what coach Michael Earley is bringing here. "Jace LaViolette
These are strong words from LaViolette after fans have been calling for his job. The season was no doubt a train wreck, but the regular season is over, and in the playoffs, no one cares what your record is. LaViolette is doing a great job by sticking up for his man to remind his fans of the bigger picture called the playoffs.
We don't know what will happen with Earley after the season is done, but Aggie fans also can't ignore the injuries he had to face before the season even started. The time will come to evaluate his performance when the season concludes, but for now, it's just one game at a time.
