It's been a week for Texas A&M basketball and Bucky McMillan. Not only did they get some serious talent from the portal, but they picked up one of the best players in the Lone Star State in the class of 2027, Chase Richardson, who had offers from Purdue, Nebraska and Virginia.
Former McNeese guard Tyshawn Archie has committed to Texas A&M and brings a resume that Aggies fans will love. Luke Evangelist from TexAgs highlights his outstanding experience.

Texas A&M is absolutely cooking following Tyshawn Archie steal
The additions of Jalen Reece and former G League guard Bryson Warren made for an incredible week for Texas A&M. They also got great news from Mackenzie Mgbako, who will be back and ready to go next season after his 2025-26 campaign ended prematurely from injury.
Archie's talent was too good for him not to play for a Power 4 school in his career, and he's one of the more aggressive defenders that A&M fans will love.
In Bucky Ball, you have to press after every basket, and Archie can put pressure on any ball handler. He fits McMillan's philosophy perfectly and may be the best pickup in the portal for A&M, other than P.J. Haggerty.
This is about the best the portal could've gone for McMillan and Co. If you told me that the Ags would be replacing Ruben Dominguez, Josh Holloway, Rashaun Agee and Pop Isaacs with Reece, Haggerty, Warren, Archie and Cade Phillips, then play it on repeat.
Obviously, all of those guys above will be missed, but you've got to give McMillan credit where it's due. This is a fire transfer portal season for the Aggies, make no mistake about it.
