Texas A&M basketball dunks all over John Calipari's Arkansas Razorbacks to extend win streak
Texas A&M basketball was on trap game watch today against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Well, about as much as you can be against any team in the SEC this year, I mean.
The Hogs under coach Cal, after poaching him from Kentucky, have not exactly soared to unimaginable heights this year. In fact, they have even disappointed relative to what we've seen out of Musselman-coached teams in recent years, despite bringing in a lot of high-level transfers.
That said, though, this is also a team that has been much more successful as of late. The early part of the year saw the Razorbacks struggle a lot, but they've put together some really nice wins recently— including a win in Rupp Arena over Coach Calipari's former team.
With such a win on their resume, the Aggies had to have been ready for the danger this team posed. It looked like it may have been bad early, with Arkansas rushing out to an 8-0 lead, but that's when this Texas A&M basketball team turned things on.

Payne's emphatic jam to draw the Aggies within one would not be the last such highlight of the day. In fact, it wouldn't even be the last out of Payne himself— but we'll get to that. Next up was Solomon Washington, getting in on the fun.

Washington was all over the court, not only dunking on the Razorbacks, but denying their attempts on the other end. It was Payne who would draw the crowd's cheers next, however.

Payne was giving up five inches to the man they call Big Zu, but he moved him out of the way like he was nothing, bringing the crowd to life. This is definitely one of the best highlights of the entire year for this Aggie team.
And then, you had this little two-man game on the break between Zhuric Phelps and Manny Obaseki, which ended with— you guessed it— another huge slam.
& the crowd goes WILD 🤯🤯

The Hogs fought hard, but they wanted no part of the Aggies by the time this afternoon's game was over. Texas A&M basketball was simply the more physical team today, and they wore Arkansas down.
The Aggies will travel to Mississippi State for a midweek contest before an extremely consequential showdown with Tennessee next weekend at Reed Arena. This is a team that is closing in on a one-seed, and if they can continue taking care of business, they will reach never-before-seen heights this year.
