One thing that Bucky McMillan and the Aggies will miss next year is the magic that was of the school's all-time leading scorer, Wade Taylor IV.
Taylor IV is not only a historic player, but he's also one of the most exciting players to come out of College Station. After all, his shot for all-time Aggies history was the most classic Wade Taylor way to ever go about it. Following a typical Aggie offensive rebound, Taylor IV tipped the ball to himself to the right wing to hit a deep three.
Now, Taylor IV is on to bigger and better things. As he's now figuring out his journey to the NBA, he might be the solution to one of the most polarizing teams in the NBA right now. As Cooper Flagg is set to take on the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks, Taylor IV might be set to team up to help with a major Mavericks problem.
Taylor IV being primary ball-handler solves Kyrie Irving injury problem
When Kyrie Irving went down with a torn ACL injury, it significantly hindered the Mavs' chances at making the playoffs. Now, the Mavericks have an issue without a primary ball-handler. While Flagg could help out massively with that, he's a forward who shouldn't try to be "Mr. Everything" in his freshman season. This could open up the door for the Mavs to call Taylor IV's number.

The Mavericks don't have a second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, but Taylor IV could also work with the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks, as he's set to work out with them later on this week. Irving might not come back until January of 2026, which is the perfect way to prove himself on a Mavericks team that needs his skillset.
His fearless offensive abilities make it easy for Nico Harrison to green light Taylor IV, at least for NBA Summer League. It can be a great start for Taylor IV to make a name for himself to pair up with Flagg eventually next season.
