Texas A&M basketball still can't seem to get over the hump. They've lost four straight in what's been their by far their biggest setback this season.
After being predicted as a number two seed for most of February by ESPN's Joe Lunardi, the Aggies have taken a serious tumble and is now looking at becoming a number four seed in the March Madness tournament.
This is also one of the toughest stretches for the Aggies on their regular season schedule, with losses to both Tennessee and Florida. And now, to cap it all off, they've got the Auburn Tigers to worry about, who have been the best team in the land for pretty much the entire season. Texas A&M basketball is not in a great place right now— and it's a worrying trend that we've seen before.
Aggies ending the regular season sluggish is very similar to last year
The Aggies have had very similar history in the topic of sluggish regular season endings.
The losing streak is now 4 games.

This is the longest losing streak since the Aggies lost 5 in a row from Feb. 11th to Feb. 28th last year.
They ended that slump last year by winning 5 in a row and 6 of their last 8.

The only good news that can come out of this is to repeat the same run from last season. Of course, this season is different with the SEC being by far the best basketball conference in 2025.
Texas A&M also got dealt a bad hand by getting Houston in the second round of the tournament. A good fight and a thrilling buzzer-beating three by Andersson Garcia would lead us to overtime, but the Cougars eventually came out on top.
It's also not just the nonexistent three-point shooting, it's defending the three that the Aggies can't seem to get right either. Against Florida, Will Richard was outshooting the Aggies the entire night from deep, and the Aggies didn't have much of an answer— that's been a frustrating regularity as of late.
The Aggies have no choice but to get things right before facing the number one team in the country on Tuesday night.
