Texas A&M basketball is resurgent after a two-week haze that saw the Aggies lose four straight. A wire-to-wire win over Auburn in Reed Arena seems to have shaken the Ags awake from their slumbering, leading to this team once more assuming the formidable level of play at which they have been operating for so much of the season.

There has been some worry, though, that the aforementioned losing streak did too much damage to the Aggies' tournament profile for them to reclaim the status they previously had as a contender for a top-two seed.

While a one seed is all but completely out the window, however, a two seed could be more realistic than any Aggie fan thought this time last week. At least one bracketology expert thinks the Aggies will land there on Selection Sunday.

Texas A&M basketball projected as a 2-seed in March Madness by bracketology expert

Jerry Palm of CBS Sports released his latest bracketology projections, and the Aggies are in an extremely favorable spot. Texas A&M basketball is a 2-seed in his projections, facing off against the 15-seed Norfolk State in Wichita, Kansas. If they win that first game, they'd face the winner of the 7-10 matchup between Illinois and West Virginia.

The other reason this would be advantageous is that it would lead to a Sweet 16 matchup most likely against either Texas Tech or Missouri, both teams that the Aggies have already vanquished. The one-seed in this region is the Florida Gators, who A&M lost to on the road recently, but playing in a neutral-site Elite Eight matchup would be far different than having to take the Gators on in Gainesville.

If this plays out, it could be the beginning of a magical run for Texas A&M basketball. There are no guarantees in a sport as crazy as college basketball, but a few wins in Nashville this week could be absolutely massive for the Ags.
