Texas A&M and many other schools are all still in hot pursuit of Auburn's Cam Coleman, the top overall player in the transfer portal, but the Aggies are set to host another top target at the same position in the near future. According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, the Aggies are working to get star Alabama receiver Isaiah Horton in to College Station for a visit in the near future.

This is a big move for the Aggies, as the longer the Coleman sweepstakes drag out, the less certain anyone becomes of where he is going. Horton, a former Miami transfer, would be a massive add to the receiver room in his own right if the Aggies are able to close this one out.

There has been no date set yet for this visit, but you can bet that the Aggies are trying to get this one over the finish line as soon as possible. Holmon Wiggins and the rest of the staff have their work cut out for them, but they have a couple of things working in their favor here.

Texas A&M set to host star Alabama receiver transfer Isaiah Horton for portal visit

Horton would fill a hole on the Aggies' receiving unit, as he stands at around 6'4" and 210 pounds. Most of the Texas A&M receiving room this past season was 6'1" and under, meaning that they didn't have a true jump ball guy— though KC Concepcion's overall receiving acumen helped them out there quite a bit.

Horton has 8 receiving touchdowns to his name on the year, more than anyone on the Aggies this past season outside of the aforementioned Concepcion. That's helped along by 3 touchdowns in the Iron Bowl, where he was absolutely unstoppable against a well-coached Auburn secondary.

Thanks to a struggling Alabama offense overall, Horton never notched a game with more than 100 receiving yards, but his 511 total yards for the season would rank third on the Aggies behind Craver and Concepcion. This would be a massive boost for the Aggies at a position of need— Horton is a top-ten portal player for a reason. Hopefully, the Ags can get this one over the finish line.
