It's safe to say now that Texas A&M made the right decision to allow Buzz Williams to walk.
Williams just made a stunning revelation that has Texas A&M fans steaming. While he was still under contract with the Aggies, he admitted to recruiting Myles Rice to Maryland even though he was still the sitting Aggie head coach. He claims he didn't try to recruit Rice to come to Maryland maliciously, because Williams anticipated that he wouldn't stay in College Station.
Pretty wild to see Buzz Williams admitting to recruiting players to Maryland while still under contract at Texas A&M: https://t.co/dzU7Hfxmzh pic.twitter.com/j6JJy3Xwz3

"I didn't try to recruit Myles to come to Maryland, that wasn't the intent of the conversation, but I knew within a couple of hours if I was taking that job that my family and I would be on a plane, and he would still be on a visit to Texas A&M. "Buzz Williams
Since Williams revealed this, Texas A&M fans have been torching Buzz and praising Bucky McMillan for a new era that will start with plenty of promise.
Wow. Just wow.

I’ll l say it, I’ll cheer against Buzz Williams for as long as he coaches college basketball. Recruiting kids to your next school while they’re on A&M’s campus is as slimy as it gets.
Snake behavior🤷🏼♂️ https://t.co/4y0zkybvrr
Some tried to give Williams some grace for being in a tough situation, but no matter how most fans look at it, Texas A&M fans will now forever give Williams the cold shoulder. Either way, this is still wild to admit.
I liked Buzz while he was here. He brought excitement to our basketball program and I never had any issues with the way he left

This is just so disappointing to hear. I get that it’s a business but it just doesn’t sit right with me
That said, it’s time for the Bucky Ball era https://t.co/eYJmKjyCWY
Yeah, that's the tough part about it. It's a business. Even though fans got a sour ending to the season by losing in the round of 32 to Michigan, Texas A&M fans were always warm to Buzz, and it felt like a mutual ending when he left.
But Texas A&M fans cannot ignore this. For a while, it seemed like Buzz was the best thing that Texas A&M basketball had in a long time. We got to see Wade Taylor IV make history by becoming the all-time leading scorer in school history.
Fans are angry with Buzz, but they can't ignore the new, fun philosophy that McMillan will implement soon in Aggieland.
